"Snow Angel". The Snowy Owl is one of the few owls that is active during the day which I guess is not really surprising when you realize that daylight is continuous in the Arctic during much of the summer. This is fortunate for wildlife enthusiasts,photographers and artists alike as it gives us a chance to observe these beautiful creatures in their natural setting. At 36" x 24" this is the biggest painting I have done to date. I really like how the snow covered field reflects the light from the cloud covered sky and in turn how the feathers under the owls wing and underbelly reflect the colours bouncing off the snow from below.
