Seeing the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker from the back can be sometimes very difficult as they blend in very well with their surroundings as they climb up and down the trunk of a tree. From their sides, you get to see the hints of yellow on their chest and bellie and you also see the bright red cap on their head. The drumming noise they make as they search for sap is always a welcoming sound in our backyard.
