Red-shouldered Hawk Study - 10"x8" Original Framed

Although the range of this hawk reaches up to southern Ontario and Quebec, we have only seen this strikingly beautiful bird in our travels down south. What I admire about this hawk is the soft tones and blended colours. Although this was a small painting, the close-up perspective allowed me the chance to become thoroughly engrossed in the detailed feather patterns around her head and shoulders.
